We stayed at Athenian Downtown Studios at Emmanouil Benaki 18. We loved the apartment, which was clean and luxurious. However, we had a very stressful experience Just before we left. There is an iron shutter that protects the passage which leads to the building itself. The shutter is locked at night so we were given a key to unlock it, but it was placed outside the shutter and it was impossible to see it in the dark . Having a plane to catch, I was stressed out. I called the reception but it was 6 in the morning and no one answered. Luckily I found someone, a resident in the building, Who saved us by unlocking the shutter. I wish we had been given very detailed instructions in addition to a clear warning. The guy who saved us told us he often saw People Who couldnt find the lock. We almost missed our delight. So keep these in mind if you are willing to stay there.

I stayed in unit 3 on the 4th floor. The construction of the unit is very poor. The bathroom door only opens about 75% of the way due to a beam running on the ceiling. There is a central metal trash dumpster on the corner below the unit. There is no sound damping between the unit that shares a window with this unit. The person in unit 4 was talking on the phone, it sounded like he was standing next to our bed. This unit shares a large plate glass window with unit 4 and there is a space between where the wall ends against the window of about 1/2" Some one could easy slip a spy camera into that space. Bags of bottles are being dropped into the metal trash container late at night after the business close and early in the morning, 05:00- 05:30, a large truck comes buy to pic up the container and deliver an empty one. There is also a high pressure water compressor they use to wash the area every morning. You might as well be sleeping in the street noise wise. On the positive side, good location and nice common area with all the stuff you need except ear plugs.

First of all you have to pay extra 20 € per day for room clean service, are you serious??? Second why you don’t tell that when we make reservation??? Second the air conditioner not working well and noisy... any way it’s not good. The only thing was good it’s <LOCATION >

The hotel is very close to the city centre and this is the bright side if you choose it. The room is big (the bathroom on the contrary quite small), clean enough. The forniture is old and requires mantainance. The bed is unconfortable (you feel each single spring). Curtains are not enough to have darkness in the morning. In conclusion: a good choice if you want to save money, but not a hotel you will remember.

We asked the hotel for a shuttle from Athens airport to Xenofontos. The driver sent by the manager (in a crappy old car) charged us 60€ instead of 30€ which is the official price before 1AM. Great way to start your hollidays !
